So we spent the weekend in Liskeard, Cornwall, and it was amazing just to be away from busy busy London, even if it was just for the weekend. Knowing how restless I am, (to the extent that even when I'm at a coffee shop chatting, I have to do something with my hands, and it is usually the case that I rip my coffee lid apart, and then proceed to rip the cup apart, once done with the coffee, of course.) I don't think I'll be able to survive anywhere like that for more than a week, so thank heavens I had people encouraging me to choose King's College instead of Durham. No regrets.
Side note: just made the best tasting fried rice, YUMMY.
So we arrived pretty late, but managed to get to our little cottage which we rented. Too bad I forgot to bring my camera charger, hence the lack of pictures of the cottage. It was pitch dark while we were in the cab on our way. The roads were bumpy and windy, with zero street lights, thank heavens for the headlights.
The first thought that came to my mind when I stepped out of the train was "this place smells like Johor", which made me miss home so much. The whole weekend felt like I was celebrating Chinese New Year in Johor, except it was slightly chilly and less noisy, everything else smelled and felt the same.
But it was good fun, walking to the city centre took us and hour and a half to two, but it was good fun.
Plus we played poker till 5am. well they did, I slept on the sofa while watching tv.
